Steps
It is common to place the implant and restore in stages
IMPLANT INSTALLATION PROCESS
STAGE 1
The tooth is missing and should have good solid bone to receive the Implant.
STAGE 2
Implant is placed under the gums into the bone. Implant placement is comfortable and you can return to work the same day. Healing time is 6 months
STAGE 3
The Implant crown and Abutment are placed on top of the Implant in the mouth and now is ready to be used
Alternatives to Dental Implants
Teeth supported Fixed Bridge
In this option the neighboring natural healthy teeth are cut in order to fabricate a bridge. If not maintained decay starts in the interface between teeth and bridge and rots the teeth.
Removable Denture
Artificial teeth made of acrylic that has to be removed. Also it has clasps that hook onto natural teeth. This eventually loosens those teeth.
